Entry: Catch.com Tuesday, February 07, 2006



Let me preface this by saying that I've totally enjoyed my membership at Catch.com. I've made some friends and some...not so friends. Tonight I had someone there submit a post with my name on it. They commented using my name.(I find this unacceptable and bullshit) This should not be allowed to happen on any site where you have a password to protect your privacy. Nobody should be able to post a comment in your name! I feel betrayed by the person that did this and the site for not jumping in and protecting my concerns. I was informed by email that I was making too much of this and the perp would be talked to. Now, trust is something I take very seriously. Being blown off by the powers to be is just a little less than trusting.  Thanx for listening.

It was a joke and I a apologize. I cut and pasted, and did not hack your account as I wouldn't even know how to.
I did it to you about two years ago and you laughed at it...??? So I'm surprised you've taken such offense to it now.

Since you feel what I did to you was such a unforgivable transgression against you as your Blog indicates, please be assured that I will not go back to Catch. Please don't hold my bad actions against anyone at Catch.

Heya bill, you weren't hacked, meaning hydrated didn't log in as you and he doesn't have your password. What he did was some crafty (in a dorky way) futzing around with html tags to make it look like you said something you didn't. I'll bet he worked real hard on it, too.

I did that once to Dimmer a long time ago. It's not cool, though, and Olaf's right - you do it a lot, and you could get banned, impersonating people like that.

Thanx Limey. The sad thing is that I used to look foward to getting home from work and jamming with the Catchers. The fun has now been tainted. Catch was theraputic after working & commuting my day away. I don't know why this bites so deep but it does. If this person sent mail in my name they would be a forger. I just feel I've lost me comfort zone there now.

I don't know what happened with Catch. but I agree it sucks ASS when someone steals your username to post shit on a website -- it has happened to me on other sites, so I know. Anyway, I hope this all gets sorted out, b/c I would hate to lose you as a Catcher. (I'm not over there as much as I wish, but I know I am not the only one who values your contributions -- you PERV!)
